On arrival, they found the victim, identified as Allison Faye McIntyre, 59.
Ms. McIntyre was shot while sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot. Annapolis Police Department (APD) opened an investigation.
APD Detectives were able to identify a suspect vehicle, a Blue Toyota Camry with Maryland tags. Further investigation identified a person of interest.
In consultation with State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitiss, an arrest warrant was issued for Monet Thompson, 49, of Annapolis.

Overnight, Ms. Thompson was located and an arrest was made. She is currently being held at Jennifer Road Detention Center.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. At this time, we do not believe the shooting was random. Through examination of facts and interviews, detectives learned that the victim and suspect were known to one other.
“We are confident we got the right person,” said Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson. “We will continue working with the State’s Attorney to prosecute the case to the fullest extent of the law.”
Chief Jackson added: We thank the public for their help which led to the swift arrest of a suspect. Good leads from the public help APD detectives get results and get offenders off the street. I want to thank the men and women of the Annapolis Police Department and the State’s attorney’s office.
