26-year-old Octavio Smith killed in downtown Rockford shooting
A 26-year-old man, identified as Octavio Tequan Smith, lost his life in a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning in downtown Rockford.
The shooting took place near the intersection of South Main and Race streets, just southwest of Davis Park.
Rockford Police responded to the scene and discovered the adult male victim, who was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino, leaving one man dead and another injured. Prince George’s County Police confirmed the fatality in a statement released on social media.
According to investigators, two adult men were struck by gunfire during the incident.
