Authorities arrested 22-year-old Alonzo Green in connection with the homicide.
Dallas, TX – A tragic love triangle is believed to be the motive behind a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the Southeast Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas.
The incident took place just after 3 PM in the parking lot of the Estelle Village Apartments, located in the 5900 block of Highland Village Drive.
Multiple witnesses reported the shooting to police and described the suspect as fleeing the scene in a silver Dodge Charger.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, 36-year-old Quentin Brown, lying wounded in the parking lot. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
According to the arrest affidavit, police had encountered both the suspect and the victim minutes before the shooting occurred. During this interaction, officers recorded the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle.
Subsequent investigation identified the suspect as 22-year-old Alonzo Green.
Green was located approximately five miles away in the Red Bird neighborhood, driving the silver Dodge Charger. He was arrested and taken into custody. Upon inspection, police discovered blood on Green’s shoes and recovered the firearm used in the shooting from inside the vehicle.
In his statement to detectives, Green admitted to driving from his home to the apartment complex and shooting Brown.
Further investigation revealed that a witness had engaged in a sexual relationship with both Green and Brown, and that recent arguments had arisen between the two men over their relationship with her.
