Execution-Style Attack: Diamond Brito Arrested For The Murder of Elijah Clunie

At about 7:00 PM, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit along with members of the Massachusetts State Police VFAS Unit and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Diamond Jose Brito, 32, of Canton, in the area of 10 Temple Street, Mattapan.

Brito was wanted on several warrants issued out of Dorchester District Court for the murder of Elijah Ricardo Clunie, 20, of Dorchester.

He is expected to be arraigned on Friday in the Dorchester District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the homicide are as follows: At about 12:55 PM on Monday, September 2, 2024, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 184 Washington Street on a report of two people shot.

On arrival, officers located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to local hospitals with life threatening injuries.

One of the victims was pronounced at the hospital and has been identified as Elijah Ricardo Clunie, 20, of Dorchester.

The second victim will not be identified and is expected to survive.

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit continues to review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.

Pottstown Standoff Ends with Officer Injured, Suspect Andrew Ecker Fatally Shot

POTTSTOWN, Pa. — A standoff in Pottstown on Sunday night ended in the fatal shooting of a suspect and the injury of a police officer, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

The incident began around 5:00 p.m. on April 6, 2025, when Pottstown Police responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Beech and North Mount Vernon streets.

Authorities say the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Andrew Jackson Ecker, attempted to reach for a .22 caliber firearm at the scene of the crash before fleeing on foot to his residence on Winding Road.

Officers pursued Ecker to his home, where he allegedly opened fire on police, striking one officer in the shoulder.

The injured officer was transported to a hospital in Reading and is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the initial gunfire, Ecker barricaded himself inside the residence, prompting a significant law enforcement response that included SWAT West and officers from multiple jurisdictions.

Negotiators were able to make contact with Ecker with assistance from a family member, but despite extended efforts, he refused to surrender.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., the situation escalated, and Ecker was fatally shot during the standoff.

The specific circumstances surrounding the use of deadly force have not yet been detailed.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident, including the officer-involved shooting.
