33-year-old Craig Holland killed after shooting on Vine Street in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Police responded to a shooting incident on the 5600 block of Vine Street on Friday, October 25th, 2024, around 3:35 PM.

A 33-year-old man, identified as Craig Holland, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported to Lankenau Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.

Two .223 Remington rifle casings were recovered from the scene.

No arrests have been made at this time, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.

Daniel Westley arrested in connection with deadly shooting of 80-year-old James Williams

The Baton Rouge Police Department has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the life of an 80-year-old man earlier this week.

According to BRPD officials, 39-year-old Daniel Westley was taken into custody on Friday, April 4, and is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of James Williams.

Williams, affectionately known in the community as “Uncle Pig,” was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound on the evening of Tuesday, April 1.

Authorities located him on the front porch of his residence in the 1900 block of Avenue E.

Police have not yet released details regarding a potential motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
