Victim killed in shooting outside Papi Gallo Cantina identified as 42-year-old Ricky Marquez
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Authorities have identified the man who was fatally shot outside a nightclub over the weekend as Ricky Marquez, 42, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest.
The shooting occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Sunday outside the Papi Gallo Cantina, located near the intersection of Grosvenor Boulevard and Commercial Avenue.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the incident followed an altercation inside the nightclub involving two individuals.
The confrontation escalated when the parties moved outside, where gunfire erupted.
Marquez was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
A second victim, whose identity has not been released, sustained gunshot injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The current condition of the second victim remains undisclosed.
The suspects involved in the shooting fled the scene immediately after the incident.
SAPD detectives are actively investigating the case, reviewing surveillance footage, and interviewing witnesses to identify and locate those responsible.
