Officer-Involved Shooting in Pittsburgh Leaves Suspect Wounded

PITTSBURGH, PA — Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred near the intersection of Wylie Avenue and Devilliers Street in Pittsburgh.

According to initial reports, the incident began with a short foot pursuit involving Pittsburgh Police officers and a suspect.

During the chase, an exchange of gunfire occurred, resulting in the suspect being struck by gunfire.

The suspect sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was immediately rendered medical aid at the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.

The current condition of the suspect has not been publicly disclosed. No officers were injured during the incident.

A large police presence remains in the area as detectives from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police’s Violent Crime Unit and the Critical Incident Response Team investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The area around Wylie Avenue and Devilliers Street has been secured, and residents are advised to avoid the vicinity while the investigation is ongoing.

As per protocol, the involved officer(s) will be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Additional details will be provided as the case develops.

42-year-old Kevin Garr dead after Clifton Heights shooting

CINCINNATI, OH – A 42-year-old man was fatally shot in Clifton Heights on Saturday afternoon, prompting an investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department (CPD) Homicide Unit.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Riddle Road at approximately 4:13 p.m. on March 9.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim, later identified as Kevin Garr, 42, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency responders transported Garr to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Detectives from the CPD Homicide Unit have launched an active investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
