Abington Township, Montgomery County – Emergency crews are battling a massive commercial building fire at SPS Technologies, located at 301 Highland Avenue in Abington Township, just north of Philadelphia.

The fire, which ignited late Monday night, has escalated to a four-alarm blaze, prompting a large-scale response from Montgomery County and Bucks County fire departments.

Fire crews were dispatched shortly before 10:00 p.m. after reports of a fire at the aerospace manufacturing facility.

Initial reports suggested up to 60 employees may have been inside the building, but authorities have since confirmed that all individuals have been accounted for.

The fire is concentrated on the roof, with heavy flames visible. Firefighters are actively working to contain the blaze using master stream water cannons.

There were early reports of an explosion, but officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire.

Abington Township Police and Ward 6 Commissioner Jeffrey Browne have advised residents to avoid the area due to hazardous conditions.

SEPTA has suspended service on the Lansdale/Doylestown and Warminster regional rail lines due to the fire’s proximity to Glenside Station.

There has been no confirmation regarding injuries at this time.

Volusia County, Fla. — A 16-year-old boy has died after being found unresponsive in the Indian River during a weekend camping and fishing trip, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified the teen as Hunter McKelvin of Paisley. Deputies said he was discovered face-down in the water Saturday morning near a small island east of Maynard May Park in Edgewater.

Members of the group located the teen and immediately began CPR before transporting him by boat to Maynard May Park.

Upon arrival, officers with the Edgewater Police Department and other emergency responders took over life-saving efforts.

McKelvin was then transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that morning.

Investigators reported that no visible injuries were observed, and there were no immediate signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances during the initial investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
