Chicago, IL – A 24-year-old man was shot and killed in a targeted attack while walking in the Pilsen neighborhood on Saturday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Authorities identified the victim as Bibiano Ruano.

He was walking along the 1400 block of West 18th Street at approximately 8:15 p.m. when two unidentified individuals approached him and opened fire, striking him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Ruano sustained gunshot wounds to the head and knee.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported him to Stroger Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.

Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.

As of Sunday, no arrests have been made, and police have not yet identified any suspects.

Detectives are actively investigating the case, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Chicago Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

Roanoke, VA – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night in Northwest Roanoke, resulting in the death of a 42-year-old man.

According to the Roanoke Police Department, officers responded to a shots fired call in the 700 block of 30th Street NW at approximately 10:00 p.m. on March 1, 2025.

Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The victim, later identified as Lamar Nicolas Burkes, 42, was transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

At this time, authorities have not released information regarding potential suspects or a motive.
