Firefighter Critically Injured in Structure Fire on West Crystal Street in Chicago
CHICAGO, IL – A Chicago firefighter is in critical condition following a Mayday incident that occurred while battling a fire at a residence in the 5500 block of West Crystal Street, in the city’s Austin neighborhood.
According to Chicago Fire Department officials, the incident was reported, when a garage structure involved in the blaze partially collapsed.
A portion of the building struck one of the responding firefighters during operations inside the structure.
Immediate rescue efforts were launched by fellow firefighters on scene, and the injured member was quickly transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the collapse are currently under investigation.
The thoughts and support of the department and the City of Chicago are with the injured firefighter and their loved ones during this challenging time.

63-year-old Roger Naramore killed in Walker County crash
WALKER COUNTY, Ala. — Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 63-year-old man Thursday evening in Walker County.
Authorities identified the victim as Roger D. Naramore, a resident of Nauvoo, Alabama.
The collision occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 5, approximately five miles north of Jasper.
According to Senior Trooper Gregory Corble, Naramore was operating a Suzuki VZ800 motorcycle when he collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 32-year-old Kayla House.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but Naramore was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
