Possible Active Shooter Reported at University of Tennessee–Chattanooga

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) has placed its campus on immediate lockdown following reports of a possible active shooter incident.
According to university officials, the report originated from the University Center and/or the UTC Library.
Students, faculty, staff, and visitors are being directed to shelter in place immediately and to follow the safety protocol: Run. Hide. Fight.
Emergency notifications have been issued via calls, texts, and campus alert systems, urging everyone to avoid the area and remain secured until further instructions are provided.
911 callers reported seeing a man dressed in dark clothing carrying a gun.
All individuals on the UTC campus should remain on lockdown. Do not move unless directed by law enforcement.
Campus facilities are currently being searched by police.
Law enforcement officers are actively responding, and the situation remains fluid.
Authorities emphasize that no one should attempt to enter the UTC campus until an all-clear has been issued.

Woman Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on Birmingham Interstate Exit Ramp Identified as Shontea Baker

Authorities have identified the woman who was killed earlier this week after being struck by a semi-truck on an interstate exit ramp in Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Friday that the victim was Shontea Renee Baker, 40, a Birmingham resident.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:26 a.m. Wednesday on the Arkadelphia Road exit ramp from Interstate 59/20.
Emergency responders pronounced Baker deceased at the scene at 10:42 a.m.
At this time, no further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been released.
The Birmingham Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
