COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Cobb County are investigating the suspicious disappearance of Dr. Melanie Nadler Litt, a well-known metro Atlanta dentist who was reported missing earlier this week.
According to Cobb County Police, a missing person report was filed on October 13, and the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
Officials have not yet released details regarding the circumstances of her disappearance but confirmed that detectives are actively following leads.
Friends and colleagues say Dr. Nadler was last seen at her home on Monday night.
When she failed to show up for work Tuesday morning at Family Dentistry at Seven Hills in Dallas, Georgia, concern quickly grew among coworkers and loved ones.
A close friend told reporters that Dr. Nadler’s vehicle was later found abandoned in a parking lot off Barrett Parkway in Cobb County.
Friends also stated that her husband was out of state at the time she went missing and that he was the one who reported her disappearance to authorities.
Dr. Nadler, who has practiced dentistry in the area for years, is described as a devoted wife, mother, and active community member.
She grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and has lived in Marietta since 2004 with her husband, son, and two pet birds.
Beyond her professional life, Dr. Nadler is known for her charitable work, particularly her involvement in the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, an event she has participated in since 2009.
In recent years, her son joined her on the 30-mile fundraising walk to help support breast cancer awareness and research.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Dr. Melanie Nadler or who has information about her whereabouts to contact Cobb County Police immediately or call 911.

Pilot killed after plane crashes Provincetown Municipal Airport in Barnstable County
PROVINCETOWN, Mass. (Barnstable County) — Emergency crews responded to a reported aircraft crash at Provincetown Municipal Airport on Race Point Road earlier today.
Authorities confirmed that a privately owned aircraft crashed on airport property and subsequently caught fire.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze, and the fire is now under control.
Preliminary information from units on scene indicates that one person was on board the aircraft at the time of the crash and is believed to be deceased.
