OREM, Utah — Federal law enforcement officials have indicated that they believe they have identified a person of interest in connection with the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, according to two U.S. officials and a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.

At this stage, investigators emphasized that no arrest warrant has been issued, and the individual has not been formally named as a suspect.

Authorities continue to pursue multiple leads, but as of now, no one is in custody in relation to the case.

The investigation remains active and is being jointly led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Utah Department of Public Safety, with assistance from state and local law enforcement agencies.

Speaking briefly to reporters outside the White House before departing for a scheduled appearance at a New York Yankees game, former President Donald Trump acknowledged the ongoing progress of the case.
