North Port Imagine School on lockdown after ammunition discovered on a school bus
By 11:15 AM, the lockdown had been lifted.
The North Port Imagine School campus was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after ammunition was discovered on a school bus.
The North Port Police Department (NPPD) announced the lockdown on social media, stating that officers were on the scene conducting a thorough investigation related to school safety.
By 11:15 AM, the lockdown had been lifted.
The ammunition was located by a bus driver upon the students’ arrival at school, according to NPPD. Students who were transported on that bus are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
Prior to the lockdown being lifted, NPPD informed parents that they would not be allowed to pick up their children from the school.
Representatives from Imagine School declined to comment on the incident.
