Plymouth Shooting: David Jerome charged for the murder of 41-year-old Brent Berkley
His license to carry a firearm has been suspended.

A fatal shooting occurred in a public parking lot on Middle Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Friday evening.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Brent Berkley of Plymouth, was involved in a minor crash with 23-year-old David Jerome.

Plymouth police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the shooting at approximately 5:45 PM. Upon arrival, officers found Berkley suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, the shooting stemmed from a minor traffic incident between Berkley and 23-year-old David Jerome.
A physical altercation ensued, leading to the fatal shooting.
Jerome was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, reckless endangerment of a child, and other firearm-related offenses.
His 18-month-old child was present in his vehicle during the incident.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Jerome is scheduled to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Monday.

Two San Antonio Police officers shot at West Side hotel, suspect killed

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Two San Antonio police officers were shot during an incident on the city’s West Side Wednesday morning, according to Police Chief William McManus. The suspected gunman is also reported to be down.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 90 westbound, near Military Drive, in the parking area of the Travelodge Motel.
Multiple emergency medical units were dispatched to the scene following reports of officers injured by gunfire.
When officers responded to the location, an exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in both officers being struck.
The suspect was also shot during the confrontation.
The conditions of the officers have not yet been released, and it remains unclear how severe their injuries are.
The access road along U.S. Highway 90 westbound has been closed as police secure the area and conduct a full investigation.
A large law enforcement presence, including tactical and crime scene units, remains on site.
Chief McManus confirmed that additional details will be provided during a scheduled press briefing later today, as investigators work to determine the events leading up to the shooting and whether any additional suspects were involved.
Residents are urged to avoid the area as the investigation remains active.
