Waveland, MS – The Waveland Police Department is investigating a tragic early morning shooting on Saturday that claimed the life of a 19-year-old man and injured a woman.
At approximately 1:33 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at a gas station on US-90 in Waveland.
Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Ladaibrien Acker, a Waveland resident, in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest.
Emergency medical personnel quickly transported Acker to a local hospital, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
During the course of the investigation, authorities identified a second victim—a female who had been shot in the arm. She received medical treatment and has since been released from the hospital.
Following their investigation, police arrested 22-year-old Robert George Sams Jr. in connection with the shooting.
Sams has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
The Waveland Police Department confirmed that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Ardmore, OK – The Ardmore Police Department has confirmed that 19-year-old Tmarion McGee was fatally shot early Saturday morning at the Highland Park Apartments, located in the 300 block of Sunset Drive SW.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Police responded to reports of gunfire at the apartment complex and found McGee suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, authorities identified a juvenile suspect in connection with the shooting.
The suspect was apprehended just hours later, bringing a swift resolution to the initial search.
Sergeant Jake Glazener of the Ardmore Police Department provided an update on the case, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing.
“This was a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the family of the victim. We are working diligently to gather all the facts surrounding this case,” Glazener stated.
The juvenile suspect has been taken into custody, and charges are expected to be filed soon. Due to the suspect’s age, additional details regarding their identity have not been released.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, but they are continuing to interview witnesses and examine evidence.
