Multiple Shots Fired near Pasadena Avenue and Clio Road in Flint

FLINT, MI (January 6, 2025) — A shooting incident near Pasadena Avenue and Clio Road in Flint left the community shaken Monday as multiple gunshots were fired, narrowly missing several bystanders.
Alina Trionne Oliver, a witness at the scene, recounted the harrowing experience while she and her mother were shopping.
“Imagine going to the store for hair accessories and ending up in the middle of a Flint shootout,” Oliver said. She described how the situation unfolded outside A&J, a store on Clio Road.
According to Oliver, as she and her mother were leaving the store, another young woman ran inside, shouting, “I’ve been shot!” Moments later, the sound of more gunshots rang out, this time closer. Fear spread quickly as customers and employees rushed to the back of the store for safety, ducking to avoid potential harm.
Oliver shared how she, her mother, and a store employee began praying as the chaos unfolded. “We didn’t know if the gunman was trying to get inside the store or if it was a drive-by. All we could do was call on Jesus,” she said.
The young woman who entered the store was grazed by a bullet, with her jacket showing evidence of the gunfire. Oliver expressed gratitude that the injuries were not worse. “God had His hand on me and my mom,” she said, reflecting on how they had just been behind the injured woman as they exited the store.
Oliver revealed that her car, parked outside, now has two bullet holes, a stark reminder of how close she came to being harmed. “Today could have been a different post,” she said. “Flint, we need to do better!”
Authorities have not released details about suspects or a motive for the shooting.
Residents with information about the incident are urged to contact the Flint Police Department or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains ongoing.
