HOLMES CO., Miss. - Four suspects have been taken into custody in connection with a deadly New Year’s Eve shooting that occurred at a Holmes County gas station. Amari Ward, 19, Amante Ward, 20, and Jamal Sly, 23, were arrested on Monday, each facing two counts of murder with a bond of $500,000 per count. Sendarius Craft, 21, was apprehended on Tuesday, with bond yet to be set. The shooting took place at a Shell gas station on Highway 17, claiming the lives of Brian Grisby Jr., 21, and De’Marion Sly, 19, while Antine Fisher, 22, was grazed by a bullet.

HOLMES COUNTY, MS — Four individuals have been taken into custody following a fatal New Year’s Eve shooting at a Shell gas station on Highway 17 in Holmes County.

The incident resulted in the deaths of two young men and left a third person injured.

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March confirmed that three suspects—19-year-old Amari Ward, 20-year-old Amante Ward, and 23-year-old Jamal Sly—were arrested on Monday. Each faces two counts of murder, with bond set at $500,000 per count.

A fourth suspect, 21-year-old Sendarius Craft, was arrested on Tuesday. Bond for Craft has not yet been determined.

The deadly shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on New Year’s Eve at the Shell gas station on Highway 17. According to Sheriff March, deputies arrived on the scene to find evidence of a violent shootout.

Upon their arrival, deputies discovered 21-year-old Brian Grisby Jr. deceased near the front door of the store. Another victim, 19-year-old De’Marion Sly, was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

A third victim, 22-year-old Antine Fisher, sustained a grazing gunshot wound. Fisher was treated for his injuries and released.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the events leading up to the shooting.

While four arrests have been made, authorities are working to piece together the exact circumstances of the incident and determine whether additional individuals were involved.Sheriff March has called on community members to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.

“We are committed to ensuring justice for the victims and their families. Anyone with details, no matter how small, is urged to contact our office,” he said.

Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning during a domestic altercation at an apartment on Mel Smith Road, located in an unincorporated area outside New Albany.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) received the initial emergency call at approximately 5:39 a.m. on November 15, 2025, reporting a disturbance involving family members.

While officers were en route, additional information indicated that shots had been fired inside the residence.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered a domestic situation involving a mother and her two adult sons.

Officers immediately secured the scene and began administering medical aid to one of the men who had sustained gunshot wounds.

The second male remained at the location and cooperated fully with responding officers.

The injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital; however, he later died as a result of his injuries.

Detectives with the Floyd County Criminal Investigations Division (CID) have taken over the case and processed the scene for evidence.

Early findings suggest the shooting may have occurred in self-defense, though officials emphasize that the investigation is still in its preliminary stages.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
