Fayetteville, NC – A 21-year-old Garrett Elliott was fatally shot in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon, according to the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD).Authorities reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the 2200 block of Stanton Street.

Upon receiving reports of gunfire, officers promptly responded to the scene, where they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and provided immediate life-saving measures before transporting the victim to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The victim has been identified as Garrett Elliott, 21, of Fayetteville.

Police confirmed that his next of kin have been notified.

The Fayetteville Police Department has not released any information regarding potential suspects or motives at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
