Prichard Shooting Leaves One Dead Following Domestic Incident
Prichard, AL – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend in Prichard, leaving one person dead.
According to the Prichard Police Department (PPD) and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Dade Street on Sunday following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officials discovered Jymatric Pickens deceased at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to an MCSO press release, the incident unfolded after Pickens allegedly arrived at his mother’s home that morning, where he began threatening and physically attacking her.
During the altercation, Pickens’ younger brother reportedly intervened and fired several shots at Pickens, striking him multiple times.
Pickens succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators revealed that the residence had a history of domestic-related incidents, with Prichard police previously responding to multiple calls involving Pickens allegedly assaulting his mother.
Following interviews with those involved, no arrests have been made at this time.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities continue to gather evidence and review the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Florida AMBER Alert Issued for Missing Child, Camila Guzman
Authorities have issued a Florida Amber Alert for 2-year-old Camila Guzman, who was last seen in Fort Myers, Florida.
She may have been spotted near the 500 block of SE 5th Avenue in Cape Coral, Florida. Camila is believed to be in the company of Luis Valentin.
Missing Child: Camila Guzman
- Age: 2 years old
- Last Seen: 4600 block of Deleon Street, Fort Myers, FL
- Description: Brown eyes, brown hair, last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and black pants
Suspected Abductor: Luis Valentin
- Age: 24 years old
- Description: Brown eyes, brown hair, last seen wearing an unknown-colored shirt, gray shorts, and possibly slides
- Distinguishing Marks: Tattoo of a lion and the word “princess” on his neck
