43-year-old Isaac Lamont Cunningham killed in Roanoke shooting
ROANOKE, Va. — Roanoke Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Friday as 43-year-old Isaac Lamont Cunningham of Roanoke.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of 12th Street SW in response to a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds outside of a vehicle. Despite emergency response efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Isaac ‘Ike’ Lamont Cunningham.
A family member confirmed his identity and shared that he was the father of 15-year-old Isaac Cunningham, who was tragically shot and killed in a separate incident in June of last year.
At this time, no arrests have been made. Investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The Roanoke Police Department continues to investigate the case.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino, leaving one man dead and another injured. Prince George’s County Police confirmed the fatality in a statement released on social media.
According to investigators, two adult men were struck by gunfire during the incident.
One victim was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
The second victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury after a bullet grazed him and was treated at the scene or a nearby medical facility.
Police stated that the suspect fled the location immediately after the shooting and remains at large.
At this time, officials have not released information regarding what led up to the incident. However, investigators emphasized that preliminary findings suggest the shooting was not a random act of violence.
