Dyshawn Moore killed in Wellford shooting, suspect Jaquavias Moses wanted on murder charge

WELLFORD, S.C. — Authorities in Spartanburg County are conducting a homicide investigation following a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday night in the Wellford community.
According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Tanglewood Road shortly before 10 p.m. in reference to a reported shooting.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office later confirmed that 32-year-old Dyshawn Lamar Moore was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:45 p.m.
Investigators have identified a suspect in connection with the homicide.
Jaquavias Raeshun Moses, 29, is currently wanted on a murder charge and remains at large.
Authorities describe him as armed and dangerous and are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to immediately contact law enforcement.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has not released details regarding the circumstances of the shooting or a possible motive.
The investigation is ongoing.

Woman Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on Birmingham Interstate Exit Ramp Identified as Shontea Baker

Authorities have identified the woman who was killed earlier this week after being struck by a semi-truck on an interstate exit ramp in Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Friday that the victim was Shontea Renee Baker, 40, a Birmingham resident.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:26 a.m. Wednesday on the Arkadelphia Road exit ramp from Interstate 59/20.
Emergency responders pronounced Baker deceased at the scene at 10:42 a.m.
At this time, no further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been released.
The Birmingham Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
