Pueblo Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Alehandro Chacon in Shooting Death of Andrea Martinez

PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo Police Department, working in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service’s Colorado Violent Offender Task Force, has announced the arrest of 20-year-old Alehandro Chacon in connection with the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Andrea Martinez on August 14, 2025.
Authorities confirmed that Martinez’s death marked Pueblo’s ninth homicide of 2025, compared to 15 homicides recorded by the same time in 2024.
Following a detailed investigation, Pueblo Police detectives developed sufficient evidence to secure an arrest warrant for Chacon.
On Wednesday, September 3, at approximately 5:30 p.m., U.S. Marshals located Chacon and safely took him into custody.
Chacon was subsequently booked into the Pueblo County Jail on the charge of First-Degree Murder After Deliberation. He is being held on a $1,000,000 cash-only bond.
The Pueblo Police Department stated that the case remains under active investigation.

Woman Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on Birmingham Interstate Exit Ramp Identified as Shontea Baker

Authorities have identified the woman who was killed earlier this week after being struck by a semi-truck on an interstate exit ramp in Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Friday that the victim was Shontea Renee Baker, 40, a Birmingham resident.
The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:26 a.m. Wednesday on the Arkadelphia Road exit ramp from Interstate 59/20.
Emergency responders pronounced Baker deceased at the scene at 10:42 a.m.
At this time, no further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been released.
The Birmingham Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
