Two teens arrested following fatal Princess Anne shooting of 46-year-old Derrick Knox
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Maryland State Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in Princess Anne, authorities announced.
Investigators said the shooting was reported at approximately 2:00 p.m. on January 26.
Responding officers located two adult men inside a vehicle parked on Dryden Lane, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, identified as 46-year-old Derrick Knox of Salisbury, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, 41-year-old Kevin Pillar, also of Salisbury, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by helicopter to a regional shock trauma center for emergency treatment.
Due to the severity of the incident, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, along with the Office of the State’s Attorney, to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
Authorities reported that shortly after the shooting, a 17-year-old girl from Salisbury was located near the intersection of Stewart Neck Road and Beckford Road and taken into custody.
The following morning, at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, investigators arrested a 16-year-old boy from Salisbury in Wicomico County in connection with the case.
Both juveniles have been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, robbery, and additional related offenses.
Police have not released a motive at this time, noting that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Officials indicated that further arrests are anticipated as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

Wilhelmina Leigh Carlton charged with the murder in stabbing of her boyfriend Darius Montreal Boglin
A 43-year-old woman from Bessemer has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend earlier this month, according to authorities.
Court records show Wilhelmina Leigh Carlton, 43, is charged with the murder of Darius Montreal Boglin, 45.
Carlton was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on March 5 and is currently being held without bond.
Officers with the Bessemer Police Department were dispatched at approximately 7:49 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, to the 3100 block of Avenue B following reports of a stabbing.
According to Detective Justin Burmeister, responding officers arrived at the scene and discovered Boglin suffering from a stab wound in a driveway.
Emergency responders attempted to assess his condition, but he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8:10 p.m.
Authorities said Carlton was still present at the location when officers arrived and was taken into custody without incident.
Investigators confirmed that Carlton and Boglin were involved in a dating relationship.
Charging documents allege that the fatal incident occurred during an altercation when Boglin allegedly grabbed Carlton from behind, at which point she stabbed him, resulting in his death.
