Mother Discovers Both Sons Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide After Breaking Down Door in North Harris County

UPDATE: Harris County, Texas (October 8, 2024) – Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that deputies are investigating a suspected murder-suicide involving two brothers in north Harris County. The incident occurred early Monday morning at an apartment on Ella Boulevard near West Airtex Boulevard.
According to the sheriff, one of the brothers, aged 22, who struggled with mental health issues, tragically shot his older brother, aged 24, who had autism. The younger brother then turned the gun on himself.
Investigators revealed that the two brothers lived at the apartment with their mother. She was asleep when she heard a commotion coming from their room. Breaking down the door, she discovered both of her sons deceased.
The mother was briefly hospitalized due to a panic attack following the tragic discovery.
Deputies disclosed that they had previously responded to the scene due to disturbances and mental health-related incidents. This incident underscores the critical need for increased awareness and resources to address mental health issues and prevent such tragedies.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a tragic shooting incident at a complex located in the 15100 block of Ella Boulevard near Airtex.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Initial investigations indicate that the incident was a murder-suicide involving two brothers.

Two San Antonio Police officers shot at West Side hotel, suspect killed

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Two San Antonio police officers were shot during an incident on the city’s West Side Wednesday morning, according to Police Chief William McManus. The suspected gunman is also reported to be down.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 90 westbound, near Military Drive, in the parking area of the Travelodge Motel.
Multiple emergency medical units were dispatched to the scene following reports of officers injured by gunfire.
When officers responded to the location, an exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in both officers being struck.
The suspect was also shot during the confrontation.
The conditions of the officers have not yet been released, and it remains unclear how severe their injuries are.
The access road along U.S. Highway 90 westbound has been closed as police secure the area and conduct a full investigation.
A large law enforcement presence, including tactical and crime scene units, remains on site.
Chief McManus confirmed that additional details will be provided during a scheduled press briefing later today, as investigators work to determine the events leading up to the shooting and whether any additional suspects were involved.
