FBI Seizes Electronics of Polymarket CEO
In a surprising turn of events, the FBI seized the phone and electronic devices of Shayne Coplan, the 26-year-old CEO of Polymarket, a prediction market platform.
The action was taken early Wednesday morning, just a week after the platform accurately predicted a significant political event.
The reasons for the seizure remain unclear.
However, some speculate that the move might be politically motivated, as Polymarket’s predictions diverged from traditional polling methods.
It’s possible that the government is investigating potential market manipulation or accusations of rigging the platform to favor a particular outcome.
Coplan was not arrested during the seizure, and the FBI has yet to provide an official statement.
Polymarket is a platform that enables users to make predictions on a variety of real-world events. It uses a decentralized model to ensure transparency and fairness.
