Columbus police have identified a man found fatally stabbed Wednesday morning in Weinland Park as 22-year-old Amareyon Daniels. Homicide detectives have charged a Richland County couple in connection with his death.

Daniels was discovered unresponsive around 7:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Grant Avenue.

He had suffered multiple stab wounds and was found in a pool of blood. Columbus Division of Fire medics pronounced him dead at 7:39 a.m., prompting homicide detectives to investigate.

Approximately 15 minutes later, at 7:45 a.m., 23-year-old Shavar Johnson of Richland County arrived at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with a stab wound. He was driven to the hospital by his girlfriend, 21-year-old Courtney Webb, also of Richland County.

According to initial statements provided to detectives, the couple claimed that Daniels had robbed Webb and threatened to sexually assault her. Johnson reportedly intervened, and during the ensuing struggle, Johnson sustained a stab wound.

However, investigators discovered evidence that contradicted their account.

Surveillance footage from the scene showed Webb sitting inside a black 2011 Chevrolet HHR (Heritage High Roof) with Daniels when Johnson approached the vehicle, opened Daniels’ door, and began stabbing him.

When detectives confronted Webb with the video evidence, she changed her story but later requested legal representation when further inconsistencies were highlighted.

Detectives are still investigating the motive behind the encounter, as it is unclear why the Richland County couple was meeting Daniels in Columbus.

Johnson has been charged with murder in connection with Daniels’ death, while Webb faces charges of obstructing justice. Both suspects are being held in Franklin County Jail and are scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on Thursday.

Columbus police are asking the public for any video evidence related to Daniels, Johnson, Webb, or the black 2011 Chevrolet HHR with Ohio license plate number JMJ-2728. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Columbus Division of Police.

The investigation remains active, and authorities continue to pursue leads to uncover the full details surrounding the incident.

A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Chester County on Sunday night, authorities confirmed.

The fallen officer was identified as Timothy O’Connor, a corporal with the Pennsylvania State Police.

Officials said Oโ€™Connor is survived by his wife, Casey, and their young daughter, along with his parents, Maureen and Tim.

Shortly after midnight Monday, Josh Shapiro, governor of Pennsylvania, announced the tragic news and ordered flags across the commonwealth to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Corporal Oโ€™Connorโ€™s service and sacrifice.

According to George L. Bivens, acting commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident began at approximately 8:16 p.m. Sunday when Oโ€™Connor responded to a report of an erratic driver in the Honey Brook area of Chester County.

Authorities said Oโ€™Connor located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop around 8:24 p.m. near the intersection of Route 10 and Michael Road in West Caln Township.

After the vehicle pulled over, Oโ€™Connor radioed in the stop โ€” which would be the last communication officials received from him.

Investigators said that when Oโ€™Connor approached the driverโ€™s side window, the suspect opened fire, shooting the trooper.

Police said the suspect, identified as a 32-year-old man from Chester County, then exited the vehicle, walked a short distance away, and took his own life at the scene.

When Oโ€™Connor failed to respond to follow-up radio calls, other troopers immediately rushed to the area, where they discovered the tragic situation.

Oโ€™Connor was transported to Paoli Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Governor Shapiro later said he visited the hospital with Oโ€™Connorโ€™s family following the tragedy.

โ€œMy heart breaks for Tim and Caseyโ€™s young daughter and their entire family,โ€ Shapiro said. โ€œLori and I mourn with the Pennsylvania State Police family and with all of our law enforcement partners.โ€

Authorities closed Route 10 between Hill Road and Lammey Road in West Caln Township as investigators processed the scene and gathered evidence.

Law enforcement officials and community members across the state have expressed condolences to Oโ€™Connorโ€™s family, fellow troopers, and loved ones as they mourn the loss of a dedicated officer who died in the line of duty.
