Angelo Amor killed in Glendale Police shooting
A second man was discovered at the scene with critical injuries.
Glendale, AZ – Authorities have confirmed that a man, identified as Angelo Amor, is deceased and another individual is critically injured following an officer-involved shooting that occurred on the evening of Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The Glendale Police Department reported that the situation unfolded around 7:00 p.m. when officers responded to a domestic violence call near 47th and Glendale Avenues.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman who alleged that a man had threatened her with a firearm. Before law enforcement arrived, the man fled the scene in a vehicle.
Shortly after, a vehicle matching the suspect’s description was spotted near 47th Avenue and Diana. Officers also observed an individual outside the vehicle who fit the suspect’s description.
Officers instructed the man to show his hands, and he initially complied. However, according to police, the situation escalated when the suspect dropped his hands and appeared to reach for something. In response, one of the officers discharged their weapon, striking the individual.
The man, later identified as Angelo Amor, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second man was discovered at the scene with critical injuries.
It is unclear how he sustained his injuries, and authorities are investigating the relationship between Amor and the injured individual.
The Glendale Police Department confirmed that no officers were injured during the incident. The case has been handed over to the Peoria Police Department for further investigation to ensure an impartial review of the officer-involved shooting.

Norfolk, VA – Lake Taylor High School was placed under lockdown on Thursday morning after a “suspicious situation” prompted a response from local law enforcement.
