26-year-old Danielle Aguirre Killed in Berwyn Shooting, Suspect in Custody
BERWYN, IL — A tragic act of gun violence claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman, identified as Danielle Aguirre, and left another individual critically injured following a double shooting in Berwyn on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
A suspect has since been apprehended in connection with the incident.
At approximately 1:08 p.m., Berwyn Police responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the 3200 block of Clinton Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located two victims, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where Danielle Aguirre was later pronounced dead.
The second victim remains in critical condition.
As part of the investigation, the Berwyn Police Department requested the assistance of the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (W.E.S.T.A.F.) to aid in the ongoing inquiry.
Following a swift preliminary investigation, police were able to identify a male suspect.
He was located at approximately 3:40 p.m. in Hillside, Illinois, where he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berwyn Police Department for further questioning.
Authorities believe the incident was isolated and stemmed from a domestic dispute, and have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino, leaving one man dead and another injured. Prince George’s County Police confirmed the fatality in a statement released on social media.
According to investigators, two adult men were struck by gunfire during the incident.
One victim was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
The second victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury after a bullet grazed him and was treated at the scene or a nearby medical facility.
Police stated that the suspect fled the location immediately after the shooting and remains at large.
At this time, officials have not released information regarding what led up to the incident. However, investigators emphasized that preliminary findings suggest the shooting was not a random act of violence.
