A tragic incident in Napa has left two people dead and a community reeling. Georgina Padilla, a 38-year-old mother of three, and her attorney, Ralph Andino III, were allegedly shot and killed by her new boyfriend, Baltazar Rangel Juarez.

The incident unfolded on Thursday morning when Juarez arrived at Padilla’s apartment complex on Lincoln Avenue.

Hours later, police located Juarez and engaged in a pursuit that ended in a standoff at Kennedy Park. During the confrontation, Juarez shot himself and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

This marks the second double homicide in Napa this year. In April, two young women were killed near the Napa River shoreline, and a man and a woman have been charged in connection with those crimes.

Napa Mayor Scott Sedgley expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and commended the police officers involved in the case.
