20-year-old Dane Nisbet killed after shooting at Lambton College campus bar in Sarnia
SARNIA, Ontario — A fatal shooting at a student event on the Lambton College campus has left one man dead and two others injured, prompting an ongoing homicide investigation.
Sarnia police say officers were dispatched just before 1:00 a.m. Friday to the college’s campus bar, known as the Lions Den, following reports of gunfire during a student-run event.
Upon arrival, officers located three individuals suffering from injuries, including one person in life-threatening condition.
The critically injured victim, identified as 20-year-old Dane Nisbet of Sarnia, was transported to Bluewater Health, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Nisbet was known within the local hockey community, having previously played for the Mooretown Flags and the North Middlesex Stars in the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJCHL).
The two additional victims sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and were treated at a local hospital.
Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made and that investigators are searching for multiple suspects believed to be involved in the shooting.
Authorities have not yet determined whether the victims were students at Lambton College.
The incident is being treated as a homicide, and officers are expected to maintain a presence at the scene for an extended period as the investigation continues.
The Sarnia Police Service has indicated that the college itself does not appear to have been specifically targeted.

As a precaution, the Sarnia campus was closed for Friday, April 10, including all classes, services, and affiliated facilities such as the Fire School, Skilled Trades Training Centre, EarlyON Child and Family Centre, and Community Employment Services.
The Ottawa campus remains unaffected.
The college also confirmed that counseling and wellness resources are being made available to students, staff, and community members impacted by the incident.
Authorities continue to work closely with campus officials as the investigation progresses and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
