17-Year-Old Giovanni Coleman Arrested in Connection with Fatal Shooting of Deshawndrey Bowman in Beaumont
Beaumont, Texas – The Beaumont Police Department has announced the arrest of 17-year-old Giovanni Coleman in connection with the city’s second homicide of 2025.
The arrest is linked to a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday night, approximately two weeks ago.
The victim, identified as Deshawndrey Bowman, 24, of Beaumont, was discovered with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle near the intersection of Brooklyn Street and Madison Avenue on the city’s south side.
Emergency responders transported Bowman to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition.
Despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries early Monday morning, according to Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr.
Judge Collins has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Beaumont Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
