31-year-old Christopher Young killed in Verona drive-by shooting

A 31-year-old man was killed and another individual wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday night in Verona, Mississippi.

Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green identified the deceased as Christopher Young, a local resident.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on April 9 in the area of ABC Avenue, according to Green.

Law enforcement sources indicated that a vehicle drove past a barbecue gathering in the neighborhood when gunfire erupted from the passing vehicle.

Both Young and another individual were struck by the gunfire.

Young succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the condition of the second victim has not yet been publicly disclosed.

Authorities have not released any suspect information, and the investigation remains ongoing. As of now, no arrests have been made.

41-Year-Old Adam Salazar Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Brother, 45-Year-Old Abraham Salazar, in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) has arrested 41-year-old Adam Salazar in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother, 45-year-old Abraham Salazar.

The incident occurred Monday night in the 4900 block of Cain Drive and is being investigated as a domestic-related dispute that turned deadly.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., CCPD officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim, later identified as Abraham Salazar, lying in a driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders immediately began life-saving measures, and the victim was transported to Spohn Shoreline Hospital with CPR in progress. Despite efforts, he was pronounced deceased.

Authorities quickly detained one woman at the scene for questioning.

Following the initial investigation, Adam Salazar was arrested and charged with murder.

He is currently being held in the Nueces County Jail on a $1 million bond.

The incident is being investigated as a family dispute that escalated to violence.

CCPD continues to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
