19-year-old Felipe Acuna killed in Sparks shooting
SPARKS, Nev. – The Sparks Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 19‑year‑old Reno resident Felipe Acuna late Friday evening.
Emergency calls reporting gunfire were received at approximately 11:25 p.m. in the vicinity of 440 Greenbrae Drive.
According to department officials, the incident unfolded during a gathering in the parking lot of the address.
An altercation between the suspect and Acuna escalated, culminating in multiple shots being fired at the victim.
Acuna was rendered emergency medical aid on scene by first responders before being transported to Renown Medical Center, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
“At this time, our detectives are working to establish a complete timeline and identify all parties involved,” said Sparks Police Department. “We ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has video surveillance to come forward.”

PolaBear Red Filmz owner Troy Hollingsworth killed in West Pullman shooting
CHICAGO — A 37-year-old Chicago photographer was fatally shot Sunday night in the West Pullman neighborhood, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The victim was identified as Troy Hollingsworth, owner of PolaBear Red Filmz.
Police said Hollingsworth was seated inside his Nissan Maxima in the 100 block of East 118th Place at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, when an unknown individual opened fire.
Hollingsworth was struck multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities confirmed.
At this time, no suspects are in custody, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
