16-year-old Harrison Morris killed in off-road crash in Macon
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a fatal off-road crash that occurred Saturday evening near the intersection of Vinson Road and Liberty Church Road in Macon, Georgia.
According to authorities, the incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at approximately 7:51 p.m.
Preliminary findings indicate that a Dodge Ram 1500 was being operated off the roadway when the driver lost control while maneuvering.
The vehicle subsequently overturned.
During the crash, a passenger who was riding in the bed of the truck was ejected from the vehicle.
Deputies identified the victim as 16-year-old Harrison Doyle Morris.
He was found unresponsive at the scene, and despite emergency response efforts, was pronounced deceased by Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
His next of kin have been notified.
Officials reported that the 16-year-old driver, along with a front-seat passenger and a 15-year-old rear-seat passenger, sustained injuries in the crash.
All three were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities have indicated that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have information related to the incident to contact the agency at 478-751-7500 and request to speak with a fatality investigator.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
The investigation and emergency response remain ongoing in Ferguson, and officials are expected to provide additional information once the scene has been fully assessed.
