Nick Schramm and RaeAnn Huber Killed in Motorcycle Crash Involving Pickup Truck in Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Two people riding a motorcycle were killed Saturday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash near the intersection of West Vision Drive and North Marion Road in Sioux Falls, according to authorities.
The victims were identified as Nick Schramm and RaeAnn Huber.
Officials said emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 4:50 p.m. on May 16, 2026, after receiving reports of a serious collision involving three vehicles.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider pickup truck near the intersection.
Authorities said two people were riding on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.
One of the motorcycle occupants, identified as Nick Schramm, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second rider, RaeAnn Huber, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries but later died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Investigators said the driver of the Mitsubishi Raider suffered serious injuries and was also transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
A third vehicle, identified as a 2016 Chrysler 300, was also involved in the crash. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported among the occupants of that vehicle.
The severity of the crash led authorities to shut down the intersection of West Vision Drive and North Marion Road for several hours while investigators documented evidence and reconstructed the scene.
Police have not yet released additional details regarding what may have caused the collision or whether speed, impairment, or traffic violations played a role.
Authorities said more information is expected to be released during a police briefing Monday as the investigation into the fatal Sioux Falls motorcycle crash continues.

Train Derails in Ferguson Involving Vehicles, Hazmat Team Called Over Ethyl Alcohol Rail Car
FERGUSON, Mo. — A train derailment involving vehicles prompted an emergency response in Ferguson on Ferguson Avenue, where authorities requested a hazardous materials team after determining that one of the train cars contained ethyl alcohol.
Emergency units were dispatched to 617 Ferguson Avenue after reports of the rail incident. Responders found a train that had derailed with vehicles involved.
Officials confirmed there was no reported entrapment. Crews were checking the scene for injuries and evaluating those involved in the incident.
A Hazmat response was requested because one rail car involved in the derailment was carrying ethyl alcohol. Emergency crews were assessing the rail car for any potential leak or hazardous condition and working to secure the area.
The presence of ethyl alcohol prompted additional safety precautions while responders examined the derailed train and surrounding vehicles.
At this time, authorities have not released details about possible injuries, the cause of the derailment or the extent of damage.
The investigation and emergency response remain ongoing in Ferguson, and officials are expected to provide additional information once the scene has been fully assessed.
