Ronald Williams Sr Killed Wife Kelly George and Four Children Before Taking His Own Life in Winfield
WINFIELD, Kan. — August 11, 2026 — A devastating shooting in Winfield, Kansas, has left five family members dead, including four children, while the suspected shooter also died at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths and have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), Winfield police officers were called to a home near Ninth Avenue and Stewart Street at approximately 8:50 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report from a man who claimed he had killed his entire family and intended to kill himself.
Officers arrived at the residence and reportedly heard a gunshot. Police established a perimeter around the home before entering the residence.
Authorities subsequently discovered six people dead, including one adult male who police identified as the suspected shooter and five additional victims.
A family member identified the suspected shooter as Ronald H. Williams Sr. and said the five victims were his wife, Kelly L. George, 44, and their four children.
The family member alleged that Williams killed his wife and children before taking his own life.
Law enforcement has not independently confirmed those specific details, including Williams’ identity, his relationship to the victims or the sequence of events. Those claims remain attributed to the family member.

Kansas court records also show that Williams faced criminal charges related to allegations involving drugs, battery, assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary, attempted rape, kidnapping and other offenses between 1995 and 2024. Those cases involved jurisdictions including Wyandotte, Johnson and Franklin counties.
The shooting prompted a significant law enforcement response in Winfield, a community in southern Kansas.
The KBI’s Major Incident Response mobile laboratory arrived at the scene at approximately 12:50 p.m. Tuesday to assist investigators with processing the residence and collecting evidence.
Winfield police and KBI investigators are working to establish a complete timeline of events, determine what happened inside the home and identify a possible motive.
Authorities have not yet released additional information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
The KBI emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

14-Year-Old Middleton High School Student Carson Chrapkowski Dies After Bicycle Crash, Driver Alyssa Anderson Arrested
MIDDLETON, Idaho — A 14-year-old Middleton High School student has died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle near the high school Friday night, according to the Middleton Police Department.
The teenager was transported by Life Flight to St. Luke’s Boise following the crash but died from his injuries early Saturday morning.
Middleton police said the crash involved a vehicle and a bicyclist near Middleton High School. The 14-year-old suffered critical injuries and was flown to a Boise hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Police announced Saturday morning that the young bicyclist had succumbed to his injuries.
The teen was identified in the information provided for this report as Carson Chrapkowski, a Middleton High School student. However, the police department’s public statement did not release the teenager’s name.
Police arrested 41-year-old Alyssa Louise Anderson in connection with the crash. Anderson was booked into the Canyon County Jail.
According to police, Anderson is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision or the specific allegations supporting the DUI charge.
