Multiple victims were reportedly involved, although the number of people injured and the severity of their injuries had not been confirmed in the information available.
The initial alert was issued at approximately 1:17 p.m., urging the public to avoid the school and surrounding area as police and emergency personnel responded.
According to scanner traffic, police indicated that the gunman had been neutralized.
Unconfirmed reports circulating over scanner traffic suggested that a father of a student may have been involved in stopping the suspect. However, authorities had not publicly verified the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s reported neutralization or confirmed the identity of anyone involved.
Fire and emergency medical services personnel were seen near Silver Rail Elementary School as the emergency response continued.
Reports of multiple victims heightened concern among families and the surrounding community. However, officials had not provided a confirmed victim count, the extent of any injuries, or information about whether any fatalities had occurred.
The circumstances leading to the reported shooting also remained unclear. Authorities had not released verified details about the suspect’s identity, a possible motive, or the sequence of events inside or near the school.
Police urged residents to stay away from the area to allow emergency crews to respond safely and conduct their work.
Approximately 10 minutes after the initial alert, authorities announced that a family reunification site had been established at Journey Church, located at 61303 S. Highway 97 in Bend, near Goodwill and Dairy Queen.
The alert instructed students’ families to go to the designated location to reunite with their children and receive information about the situation.

It was not immediately clear how long the lockdowns remained in effect or when normal school operations would resume.
Authorities had not yet publicly confirmed all details surrounding the reported shooting, including the number of victims, the suspect’s condition, and the circumstances in which the threat was stopped.
The reported involvement of a student’s father remained unverified and should not be treated as established fact unless confirmed by investigators.
