LAKE ELSINORE, California — Two skydivers were killed Friday after a midair collision during a scheduled skydiving event at Skydive Elsinore, authorities and the skydiving company confirmed.

The two victims were licensed and experienced skydivers taking part in an organized event at the California skydiving facility.

The accident happened during the final approach to landing, when the skydivers collided approximately 150 feet above the ground.

The collision caused their parachutes to become entangled, resulting in both individuals falling to the ground and suffering critical injuries, the company said.
