3 injured after shooting in Oxon Hill

OXON HILL, Md. (Prince George’s County) – Authorities are investigating a triple shooting that occurred Tuesday evening at Eastover Shopping Center, located in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill.

According to initial reports, three individuals were found suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene.

One victim was unresponsive, and emergency medical personnel immediately initiated CPR efforts.

Another victim, identified as a juvenile, sustained a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to a medical facility under Priority 2 status.

The condition of the third victim has not yet been disclosed.

Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD), with assistance from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), responded to the incident and secured the area.

Further details, including the circumstances leading up to the shooting and the identities of those involved, have not yet been released.

The investigation remains active.

Woman Fatally Struck by Semi-Truck on Birmingham Arkadelphia Road exit ramp from Interstate 5920 Identified as Shontea Baker

Authorities have identified the woman who was killed earlier this week after being struck by a semi-truck on an interstate exit ramp in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed on Friday that the victim was Shontea Renee Baker, 40, a Birmingham resident.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 10:26 a.m. Wednesday on the Arkadelphia Road exit ramp from Interstate 59/20.

Emergency responders pronounced Baker deceased at the scene at 10:42 a.m.

At this time, no further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been released.
