Dexter Cormier killed after shooting on Greenwell Springs in Baton Rouge, 2 suspects arrested
Baton Rouge Police Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left one person deceased and 5 others injured by gunfire.
The shooting occurred on October 20, 2024 around 3:45 am in a parking lot located at 9702 Greenwell Springs Rd.
DEXTER CORMIER, 35, was shot and transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Five other gunshot victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening gunshot injuries.
Uniformed officers at the scene were able to render aid and detain 2 individuals that were involved in the incident.
MICHAEL ROBINSON, 24, was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 1st Degree Murder, 5 Cts of Attempt 1st Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm-Convicted Felon and Illegal Use of a Weapon.
TYRELLE HAMILTON, 30, was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Obstruction of Justice.

Armwood High School on lockdown after weapon found on campus
Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida, is currently under lockdown following reports of a weapon discovered on campus.
School administrators have restricted all student movement within the school building to ensure safety, and no one is permitted to leave classrooms or move freely in the hallways at this time.
The school is working closely with local law enforcement, who are on-site conducting a thorough investigation to determine the situation and ensure the safety of all students and staff.
