18-year-old Lashae Ellis killed after shooting at Akron Halloween party

A Halloween party in Akron, Ohio, turned deadly on Saturday night after an 18-year-old woman, Lashae Ellis, was fatally shot.

Two other teenagers, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, were also injured but are expected to recover.

According to the Akron Police Department, officers responded to a call at a residence in the 1400 block of Canton Road around 10:45 PM.

They found Ellis suffering from a gunshot wound and transported her to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

An 18-year-old male was apprehended after a brief chase and found discarding a handgun.

He has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Obstructing Official Business, but his connection to the shooting is still under investigation.
