Recently Fired Employee Fatally Shoots Two Persons at Chicago’s Navy Pier, Suspect in custody

Two individuals were injured in a shooting incident at Chicago’s well-known Navy Pier on Tuesday afternoon, as confirmed by the Chicago Fire Department.

The shooting reportedly took place shortly before 1:45 p.m. in the 900 block of East Grand Avenue, which encompasses a section of Navy Pier, one of the city’s most frequented tourist spots along Lake Michigan.

Tragically, both individuals who were shot at Chicago’s Navy Pier earlier today have now been pronounced dead.

The victims have been identified as two males, one approximately 51 years old and the other around 47 years old.

According to initial reports, the suspect is a former employee who was recently terminated from a restaurant located within Navy Pier.

He was terminated on October 14th.

Witnesses last saw him fleeing the area near the loading dock, reportedly still wearing a chef’s uniform.

At this time, the suspect remains at large. Chicago Police have confirmed that an active search is underway to locate and apprehend him.

The police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward, as they continue their investigation into this tragic incident.

Two San Antonio Police officers shot at West Side hotel, suspect killed 6800 block of U.S. Highway 90 westbound, near Military Drive

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Two San Antonio police officers were shot during an incident on the city’s West Side Wednesday morning, according to Police Chief William McManus. The suspected gunman is also reported to be down.

The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 90 westbound, near Military Drive, in the parking area of the Travelodge Motel.

Multiple emergency medical units were dispatched to the scene following reports of officers injured by gunfire.

When officers responded to the location, an exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in both officers being struck.

The suspect was also shot during the confrontation.

The conditions of the officers have not yet been released, and it remains unclear how severe their injuries are.

The access road along U.S. Highway 90 westbound has been closed as police secure the area and conduct a full investigation.

A large law enforcement presence, including tactical and crime scene units, remains on site.

Chief McManus confirmed that additional details will be provided during a scheduled press briefing later today, as investigators work to determine the events leading up to the shooting and whether any additional suspects were involved.

Residents are urged to avoid the area as the investigation remains active.
