17-year-old Jordan Walden charged with murder in fatal shooting of Marciano Kirkland in Hephzibah

A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at their shared residence on Hephzibah-McBean Road in Hephzibah, Georgia.
Jordan Walden was taken into custody on Tuesday and faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm in relation to the homicide.
The incident took place at 1457 Hephzibah-McBean Road, where authorities discovered 34-year-old Marciano Kirkland with a gunshot wound inside the home.
Emergency responders pronounced Kirkland dead at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to Coroner Mark Bowen, an autopsy has been scheduled to confirm the official cause and manner of death.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office received the initial call at 3:11 p.m., with deputies arriving shortly thereafter to find Kirkland already deceased.
Sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry reported that the victim had sustained critical injuries from at least one gunshot.
As of now, authorities have not disclosed any potential motive for the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office continues to gather information surrounding the circumstances of the crime.

Two San Antonio Police officers shot at West Side hotel, suspect killed

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Two San Antonio police officers were shot during an incident on the city’s West Side Wednesday morning, according to Police Chief William McManus. The suspected gunman is also reported to be down.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 90 westbound, near Military Drive, in the parking area of the Travelodge Motel.
Multiple emergency medical units were dispatched to the scene following reports of officers injured by gunfire.
When officers responded to the location, an exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in both officers being struck.
The suspect was also shot during the confrontation.
The conditions of the officers have not yet been released, and it remains unclear how severe their injuries are.
The access road along U.S. Highway 90 westbound has been closed as police secure the area and conduct a full investigation.
A large law enforcement presence, including tactical and crime scene units, remains on site.
Chief McManus confirmed that additional details will be provided during a scheduled press briefing later today, as investigators work to determine the events leading up to the shooting and whether any additional suspects were involved.
Residents are urged to avoid the area as the investigation remains active.
