Stroud Area Regional Police have arrested 25-year-old Andrew Quattrochi of Bushkill in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Garrett Gearhart at a Wawa in Stroudsburg.
According to an official release, the Stroud Area Regional Police Department responded to multiple reports of a shooting at the Wawa located on West Main Street shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Garrett Sorrenti suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.
Police administered lifesaving measures until emergency medical services arrived.
Despite these efforts, Sorrenti succumbed to his injuries at Lehigh Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased just before 11:00 p.m. by the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident began as a verbal altercation inside the store, which escalated into a physical confrontation involving multiple individuals.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly produced a handgun and fired a single shot before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have classified the shooting as an isolated incident.
An autopsy is scheduled later this week to confirm the exact cause of death.
The Stroud Area Regional Police Department is leading the investigation and encourages anyone with information to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.

Two San Antonio Police officers shot at West Side hotel, suspect killed

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Two San Antonio police officers were shot during an incident on the city’s West Side Wednesday morning, according to Police Chief William McManus. The suspected gunman is also reported to be down.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 90 westbound, near Military Drive, in the parking area of the Travelodge Motel.
Multiple emergency medical units were dispatched to the scene following reports of officers injured by gunfire.
When officers responded to the location, an exchange of gunfire ensued, resulting in both officers being struck.
The suspect was also shot during the confrontation.
The conditions of the officers have not yet been released, and it remains unclear how severe their injuries are.
The access road along U.S. Highway 90 westbound has been closed as police secure the area and conduct a full investigation.
A large law enforcement presence, including tactical and crime scene units, remains on site.
Chief McManus confirmed that additional details will be provided during a scheduled press briefing later today, as investigators work to determine the events leading up to the shooting and whether any additional suspects were involved.
Residents are urged to avoid the area as the investigation remains active.
