Law enforcement sources have revealed that the suspected gunman who fatally shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson used a fraudulent New Jersey identification card to check into a hostel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side prior to the attack.
According to investigators, the suspect secured accommodations at the HI New York City Hostel, located at 891 Amsterdam Avenue, using the counterfeit ID.
Surveillance footage captured the individual at the hostel in the hours leading up to the shooting, which occurred outside the New York Hilton Midtown in a brazen, premeditated attack.
Authorities launched an investigation into the suspect’s identification after uncovering his link to the hostel.
Their findings confirmed that the ID used during the booking process was fake.
