Father 28-year-old Andrey Demskiy arrested after beheading his 1-year-old boy with a knife near Sacramento
The child had suffered severe injuries, including decapitation.

Early this morning, at approximately 4:15 a.m., Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 7500 block of Versailles Way in North Sacramento County.
The call was in response to a family disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female outside the residence who reported that her husband, identified as 28-year-old Andrey Demskiy, had assaulted both her and her mother.
The woman was transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies attempted to contact Demskiy at the residence, but he refused to open the door or surrender peacefully.
During their investigation, deputies were informed that a one-year-old child was inside the residence with Demskiy and that the child may have been injured.
Concerned for the child’s safety, deputies forcibly entered the home.
Upon attempting to detain Demskiy, he resisted physically but was eventually taken into custody.
During their search of the residence, deputies discovered the lifeless body of a one-year-old child in the bedroom.
The child had suffered severe injuries, including decapitation.
Sheriff’s Child Abuse Bureau Detectives, who handle sensitive cases involving children, were called to the scene alongside Crime Scene Investigators.
Based on their investigation, it was determined that the incident originated as a domestic violence dispute involving Demskiy, his wife, and his mother-in-law.
Both women had left the residence and awaited deputies’ arrival when the horrific crime occurred.
Evidence gathered at the scene revealed that Demskiy used a knife to fatally attack his one-year-old son.
Following his arrest, Demskiy was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. He remains ineligible for bail and is scheduled to appear in court on December 24.
Authorities continue to investigate this tragic and gruesome incident. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
