The Berkeley Police Department is investigating the fatal stabbing of an Amazon employee that occurred Sunday night, January 7, 2025, at the company’s warehouse located at 8850 Springdale Avenue.

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at approximately 8 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered 31-year-old Kenneth Anderson-Lane suffering from a stab wound sustained during an altercation with a co-worker.

Anderson-Lane was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities identified the suspect as 41-year-old Patrick Thrower, a resident of St. Louis. Thrower was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Thrower has been charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action.

According to court documents, surveillance footage captured the confrontation between Thrower and Anderson-Lane.

The footage shows Thrower holding a knife prior to the stabbing outside the main entrance of the warehouse. Additionally, Thrower admitted to possessing the knife used in the incident.

Another employee identified Thrower as being involved in the altercation, providing further evidence in the case.

Amazon released a statement expressing condolences and emphasizing their focus on supporting employees in the aftermath of the tragedy:

“We’re saddened by this senseless act of violence and are focused on providing support for our employees at this time. We’ll defer to the Berkeley Police Department for additional information and continue to assist them with their investigation.”

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino, leaving one man dead and another injured. Prince George’s County Police confirmed the fatality in a statement released on social media.

According to investigators, two adult men were struck by gunfire during the incident.

One victim was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

The second victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury after a bullet grazed him and was treated at the scene or a nearby medical facility.
