Suspect and victims in River Ridge homicide identified
The 13-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to her ankle.

A 46-year-old man was fatally shot by Jefferson Parish deputies early Saturday morning (January 18) after allegedly opening fire on his family inside their home in River Ridge.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office identified the gunman as Glenn Bohne Jr. According to Sheriff Joe Lopinto, Bohne killed his 40-year-old wife, Dung Pham, and their 2-year-old daughter, Amy Bohne, during the horrific incident.
Bohne also allegedly shot his two older daughters, a 9-year-old and a 13-year-old. The 9-year-old girl was critically injured and rushed to Children’s Hospital, where she remains in critical condition after undergoing surgery.
The 13-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to her ankle.
The couple’s eldest child, a brave 13-year-old girl, hid during the violence and managed to call 911, identifying her father as the gunman. Sheriff Lopinto described the call as heartbreaking.
“I just listened to the 911 tape,” Lopinto said. “Hearing the child make that call is pretty devastating right now, to be honest with you. … Brave little girl.”
The call brought deputies to the single-story home located in the 10000 block of Stephen Drive, near Mary Lane, around 4 a.m.
When deputies arrived, they entered the home and discovered the lifeless bodies of Pham and Amy Bohne in the hallway, along with the two injured daughters. As officers proceeded further into the house, they encountered Bohne in a back bedroom.
“Our policemen continued into the house itself and encountered the father in a back bedroom,” Lopinto explained. “He ended up producing a firearm at that time, and our deputies fired upon him, striking and killing him inside the residence.”
Sheriff Lopinto said investigators are working to understand what led Bohne to commit such a heinous act.
“I don’t have the answers that you’re looking for because I can’t imagine any answers to get us to this point,” Lopinto said. “But we’re certainly investigating.”
The sheriff noted that it is unclear what prompted the violence or whether law enforcement had previously responded to domestic violence incidents at the home.
The tragic incident has deeply affected the local community. Archbishop Chapelle High School identified the critically injured 9-year-old girl as an eighth-grade student. In a social media post, the school announced a prayer service would be held upon the students’ return to school and asked the community to “keep the Bohne family in your prayers during this difficult time.”
Sheriff Lopinto called the incident a “tragic situation” and emphasized the ongoing investigation into the events that led to the violence.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Two Children Killed, Two Others Critically Injured in Angleton-Area Shooting, Mother in Custody

ANGLETON, Texas — Authorities are investigating a tragic shooting in Brazoria County that left two children dead and two others critically injured early Saturday morning.
According to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), deputies were dispatched around 5:00 a.m. after a distressed woman called 911, reporting that her son had attempted to kill her and that multiple children were in the vehicle with her.
Deputies located the woman and the children at a gas station on State Highway 288B near FM 521.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred elsewhere, and multiple agencies are now working to determine the exact location of the incident.
Upon arrival, deputies found four children suffering from gunshot wounds. A 13-year-old and a 4-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene.
An 8-year-old and a 9-year-old were airlifted to a nearby trauma hospital in critical condition.
Authorities later confirmed both surviving children are expected to recover.
Initial reports indicate that all individuals involved have been accounted for, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
A female adult—believed to be the children’s mother—has been taken into custody.
While investigators initially received conflicting information suggesting one of the children may have been responsible, authorities now believe the adult female was the shooter.
In a statement, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office said:
“All individuals believed to be involved have been detained, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. While the details are still developing, the loss of two children in such a manner is a tragedy. Our thoughts are with the family and everyone affected as we continue to learn more about this heartbreaking situation.”
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is assisting Brazoria County investigators at a related residence in Montgomery County, believed to be connected to the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims or the suspect pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains active.
