Darke County Police Investigating Shooting, Chase, and Fatal Crash

Darke County, OH – March 13, 2025 – Authorities in Darke County are investigating a violent series of events that unfolded Thursday evening, involving a shooting, police pursuit, and fatal crash.
According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), deputies responded to reports of a shooting at a residence along State Route 571, where they discovered a deceased female victim.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly fled the scene, leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit.
The chase ended in a serious crash at the intersection of Beamsville-Union City Road and Colesville Lightsville Road.
Reports indicate that at least one person was ejected from the vehicle, and another individual was possibly found deceased inside the car.
Emergency responders requested two CareFlight helicopters to the crash site due to the severity of injuries.
Authorities confirm that the suspect is now in custody at the crash scene.
